Welcome to the Washington Library!


Welcome to the Washington Elementary Library! We strive to make the library both a place of excitement, and a place of calm. The library is a space for literacy, joy, curiosity and mindfulness. This is provided through our varied book collection, areas for creating and building, and quiet spots for reading.

A lifetime love of reading and literacy, and the joy of working with children have brought me to the elementary library. As a child I spent hours at my public library and did not miss a summer reading program. In all fairness, the building my public library was housed in was as magical as the library itself! Every ounce of that space invoked curiosity and mystery. I try to carry that feeling over into Washington’s library and provide a space of welcome and wonder for all elementary readers.

Our Mission

The Library Services program provides an adaptive "in-between" space where students connect classroom learning to personal passion. We foster a lifelong love of literacy and provide a safe, supportive environment for students to explore, fail, try again, and grow.
