Mrs. Vonda Franklin

Welcome to 4th grade! My name is Vonda Franklin, and I look forward to working with you this year.  I joined the Boise School District in 2014, with 11 years of teaching experience.  I love my Wildcat families!
In 1996, I graduated from the University of Montana with a bachelors in Elementary Education. In 2017, I earned my master’s degree in mathematics education. In 2017, I won the Presidential Award for Mathematics and Science Teaching.
My husband and I have been married 32 years. My husband teaches biology and forensic science at Bishop Kelly. We have 2 adult children and two fur kids: a 13-year-old Basenji named Trinity and a 12-year-old Italian Greyhound named daVinci. As a family, we enjoy camping, biking, cooking, and playing & watching hockey. I play hockey on a women's league during the summer. We just spent our fourth summer building an off the grid cabin. (The thing people love the most, is that we are harvesting trees from our land that were damaged in a forest fire and milling our own lumber to build it.) I am very excited to teach this group of students. My goal is to help them believe in their abilities and strive to reach their full potential.
